4 Ways to Spend New Year's Eve in Ashland, KY

As we make our way towards the end of December, you may be wondering what to do for New Years Weekend in Ashland. No worries, my friend.  Whether you're looking for something fun and festive or want to keep it low-key, there are plenty of places in Ashland where you can ring in the new year with a bang.

New Year’s at Noon at The Highlands Museum and Discovery Center

Kick off the day's celebrations with the little ones! The Highlands Museum and Discovery Center is hosting its 1st annual New Year’s at Noon event. Attendees have been requested to wear their favorite pj attire. Kid-friendly snacks and drinks will be provided, with fun and games taking place until it’s time to countdown the great balloon drop. The event is from 10:00 am - 2:00pm and admission is $5.00, adults and members are free. Tickets can be purchased at The Highlands Museum and Discovery Center.

The Wine and Bourbon Ball at the delta Marriott

The Wine and Bourbon Ball is an annual New Year’s event that has become a tradition for many. This year, the ball will continue on at the Delta Hotel in the heart of Downtown Ashland.

Tickets start at $160 per person and include hors d'oeuvres, casino games, dancing and an open bar from 9 pm – 1 am. There are plenty of packages available to fit your needs whether you want to attend with a group of friends or just your significant other! Proceeds from the tickets benefit The Neighborhood, a local non-profit that provides stabilizing services to those in need of home and job placement. Their services provide individuals with the tools and abilities needed to maintain healthy growth strategies and self-sustaining employment.

Murder Mystery dinner and NYE party at the Union On Carter

The Union on Carter is hosting a murder mystery dinner and retro themed dance party to ring in the New Year. Dinner will be catered by Sal's Italian Eatery and Speakeasy that will include an Italian buffet with salad, lasagna, fettuccine chicken alfredo, chicken parmesan, dessert and complementary alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Dinner tickets are $100 per person or $180 per couple and include entry to the dance party after dinner.

If you have plans for the first half of the evening, you can purchase tickets to the dance party with DJ EDM at $50.00 per person or $90.00 per couple. The dance party starts at 9:30 pm and your ticket includes complementary hors d’oeuvres, well liquor, champagne, and soda. Higher shelf liquor can be purchased at an additional cost. Tickets can be purchased here.

Shelby Lore at tomcat bourbon and brew house

If you're interested in hearing some great live music, Shelby Lore is a singer-songwriter from Ashland, Kentucky and will be performing at Tomcat Bourbon and Brewhouse.

Lore has been performing in Ashland for several years now. He has opened for many well known acts including Sundy Best and Koe Wetzel. If you've haven’t had the opportunity to hear him live, we highly recommend checking out his New Years Eve performance at Tomcat!

Don’t forget to call the party bus to chauffeur you to and from Tomcat’s. Local rides are free and a sure way to get you to and from the celebration safely!

Which Party will you choose?

We hope this guide helps you plan the perfect evening with family and friends to create a memorable NYE that will be talked about for years to come!
